Language & Literacy for Early Learning
Where does the foundation for early learning begin? How do we include the new buzzword, The Science of Reading, into the preschool classroom?
Offered as a 6-hour training, this course will help teachers explore the foundations of literacy, beginning with language and effective read-alouds (linked to increasing CLASS scores) and ending with a working session, offering teachers the time to explore the tools of their curriculum and put a plan of action into place, using the skills of their team.
Early Numeracy and Number Concepts
To use or not use a calendar, that is the question! So many early childhood classrooms struggle to get rid of the calendar, but is it really important? In this training, teachers will explore "new math" concepts as they relate to young children and what is means to have 5-ness. Offered as both a 3-hour and a 6-hour training.
Trauma-Informed Systems of Care
In a post-Covid world, everyone has experienced a global trauma. That includes families, staff members, and most importantly, the children in our care. This training explores the factors in our own lives that have led to overcoming circumstances, finding resiliency, bringing those protective factors into the classroom, and teaching our children and their families to have these same characteristics. Offered as a 6-hour training.
